Will a new panel look different from the rest?
Shape and texture should match if the design is still made. Color can be slightly off on an older door that has faded in the sun, and we'll mention that before anything is ordered.

A sectional door is made of four or five horizontal panels joined by hinges, which means damage to one doesn't automatically mean replacing all of them. A bumper dent in the bottom section, a crack along a hinge line or rust eating up from the floor can often be solved with a single new panel.
Whether that works depends on parts. Door makers update their lineups, so older designs and colors disappear. We pin down the brand and model, find out if that exact section can still be ordered, and say so plainly when a full replacement is the more sensible option.
Usually limited to the bottom section, but a deep crease can bind as the panel rolls over the curve.
Stress cracks start where hinges are fastened and spread a little each time the door cycles.
Standing water and humidity attack the lowest panel first. Once it's perforated, patching doesn't last.
A panel bent in the middle can rub the track or pull its hinges loose.
We read the label or measure the sections to find the make, model and panel design.
If a matching section is still made, you hear that. If not, you hear that too, along with the alternatives.
The damaged panel comes out and the new one goes in, with fresh hinges and rollers where needed.
Swapping a panel can make the door heavier or lighter, so we retune the springs and recheck the opener.

When two or more sections are badly damaged, rust runs across the door, or matching panels no longer exist. At that stage a patchwork repair rarely makes sense, and a new door lets you move up to a wind-rated or insulated model.
Find the label on the door's edge if you can, and we'll check whether a matching section is still made.
